I caught up with TVCC Defensive Coordinator Will Reed (pictured above) after the SWJCFC Media Day and the discussion turned to the importance of leadership and work ethic.
"Right now, I think we have a group that is capable of being pretty good," said Coach Reed. "But until we strap it up and you get going you never know."
Those qualities become even more important in a year that has seen a spring season and crazy workout schedules because of COVID.
"We didn't have them on campus for the whole time during the second summer session," he said. "We chose to give them some time away, give us some time away. Let their bodies heal up, those that have played."
Coach Reed also touches on trying to teach in a COVID environment.
"You could meet as much as you want to meet. You could do it online, you could do it via Zoom," he said, "but how do guys learn? A lot of guys learn by doing."
