It's a big week in The Valley.
Trinity Valley Community College is celebrating homecoming this Saturday in addition to inducting its most recent Hall of Fame class.
But on the field, the most important thing is seeing TVCC bounce back from last week's loss. The No. 8-ranked Cardinals will be trying to do that against the Navarro Bulldogs.
TVCC brings a 5-1 record into the game while Navarro is 3-4
"Navarro is coming to town," said TVCC Coach Sherard Poteete. "People that just look at records, you've got to throw records out the window. Navarro is a good football team. They're better than what their record says."
The feature matchup in this contest will be the Bulldog offense that is averaging more than 500 yards a game against the Cardinal defense which is leading the NJCAA in tackles, sacks, and tackles for loss.
"It's a shootout every time we play, year in and year out."
The kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Bruce Field.
Homecoming coronation will take place before the game with the King and Queen crowned at 12:30 p.m.
