TVCC Cardinals get ready for 2021 Fall Season

It's once again time for Cardinal football!

After going 6-2 in the spring, Trinity Valley Community College is set to kick off the 2021 fall season at home against ASA- Miami.

In a season preview posted to the TVCC Sports website, Coach Sherard Poteete said, "Listen, 6-2 is not our standard around here, but we saw enough (in the spring season) and have enough players returning in key positions we believe we will again be competing for a championship."

Last week, I attended the Southwest Junior College Football Conference (SWJCFC) Media Day, where all the conference coaches took a turn at the podium to talk about their team. The attached recording is Coach Poteete during his turn.

At SWJCFC Media Day and I just counted. There are 30 people in the room and fully one-third are either representing or specifically covering @TVCCFOOTBALL #Relevant @Coach_Po

I also interviewed Defensive Coordinator Will Reed while there and that podcast will post later in the week.

The Media Poll and Coaches Poll were also released during Media Day, with both groups agreeing on the preseason rankings.
