Sheriff: Office busy with COVID-related work

This interview was recorded Wednesday, March 17, at the Henderson County Justice Center.

COVID hospitalizations have fallen to their lowest levels since last July, but that doesn't mean the Sheriff's Office doesn't have COVID-19 related work still on the schedule.

The Sheriff's Office is currently writing a new visitation plan for the jail to allow that facility to reopen for the first time in a year. There are some hoops to jump through, however. The plan will first have to be approved by NET Health and then it will have to be approved by the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.

In addition, the Sheriff's Office is helping run the vaccination clinics being held at the Fairpark Complex and Senior Citizens Building. There were two clinics held there last week and another is scheduled for this Friday. Remember, you can sign up for these Henderson County/Family Circle of Care clinics here. https://bit.ly/countyregistration

We finished the podcast by talking about the upcoming Henderson County First Responders PRCA Rodeo. That event is scheduled for April 23-24. Keep up with all the announcements leading up to the rodeo by following their Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/HendersonCountyFirstRespondersPRCARodeo
