The 2020 General Election is over even though some of the counting continues around the country.
Things went smoothly in Henderson County, according to county officials.
During our weekly podcast, County Judge Wade McKinney said the election set the record for the most votes cast in a Henderson County election. There were more than 36,000 ballots.
"I want to give high marks to (Elections Administrator) Denise Hernandez and her people, the poll workers, and I want to congratulate them on a wonderful election," McKinney said. "It could not have run any smoother."
During the interview, Judge McKinney and I spoke about:
The record-setting turnout.
The dominance of the Republican Party in the county.
Why the county doesn't announce city or school district results.
