It's time to get back to work.
The TVCC Cardinals had last week off, but they will be on the road this week as they travel to Brenham, Texas to take on the Blinn Buccaneers at 3 p.m. Saturday.
The Cardinals carry a 5-0 record into the contest while Blinn sits at 3-2 and 2-2 in the SWJCFC.
But don't let Blinn's record fool you.
"They continue to get better as the season goes along," said TVCC Coach Sherard Poteete. "They're headed in the right direction."
Saturday will be homecoming for the Buccaneers, so expect them to have a little added emotion.
"They're going to be geared up, fired up, to face the No. 4-ranked Cardinals," Coach Poteete said. "This is the biggest game on their schedule so we can't take a day off."
One key for Saturday is shoring up the special teams, according to Coach Poteete. The Cardinals had two punts blocked in their last game, which was against Cisco. They also turned the ball over four times against the Wranglers.
"I think that will be a key this week. Who can play better on special teams and not turn the ball over, or create turnovers," he said.
Other topics during the interview:
-- Fun at the Texas-OU game
-- The rivalry against Blinn
-- How healthy are the Cardinals
