A domestic violence related shooting sent one man to the hospital and a woman to jail this week.
Tiffany Marie Schultz, 29, was arrested and charged with a first-degree felony for shooting her boyfriend Tuesday night. (In the interview, her age is mistakenly given as 19.)
“He took a round to his arm,” Sheriff Botie Hillhouse said during our weekly podcast Wednesday. “He’s got some broken bones but he’s going to come out OK.”
The couple were arguing at a residence in the Brierwood Bay subdivision. According to reports, Schultz fired one shot and missed. The couple continued to argue and she fired a second shot, hitting her boyfriend.
Hillhouse said this was a domestic violence case and said the county is seeing more domestic violence issues this year and the spike is likely related to COVID quarantining.
“We are responding to more domestic violence cases and I do believe a lot of it has to do with people being at the house together for such a long period of time,” he said.
