The Hornets will be at Bruce Field this Friday night for their final home game of the 2020 season. Athens will be welcoming Kilgore to town with kickoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
Kilgore is 4-0 in district play.
"They present a great challenge," said Coach Zac Harrell. "They're a complete football team. They can beat you in multiple ways."
Harrell said the Bulldogs run a spread offense and are balanced between the run and pass. Defensively, Kilgore runs a 4-2-5 and is solid across the board.
"They are talented everywhere," he said. "They are a complete team."
Coach Harrell said perseverance is the word of the week for the Hornets.
"We expected and we planned to make the playoffs," he said, " it didn't happen. We've had some difficulties with injuries and delays. But we have to keep persevering as a program toward these goals."
Harrell said this week's Keys to the Game include:
Do the little things right
Every player be consistent
No turnovers
Finish drives
