TxDOT Update for the Week of Oct. 28

This week, Athens (TxDOT) Maintenance crews will perform base repair on FM 314. Expect lane closures with flaggers controlling traffic on both projects. Additional crews will perform pothole repair and edge repair at various locations throughout the county. Crews will also perform sign maintenance, herbicide application, and sweeping throughout the county.

Henderson County construction projects updates:

SH 198 Bridge Project

• Limits: At the Clear Creek Bridge a mile north of FM 3054 to 0.1 mile north of CR 2830

• Contractor: Copasa Inc.

• Cost: $30.4 million

• Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2024

The contractor is scheduled to work on bridge rubbing elements under the bridge as well as project cleanup. Final striping will be completed once final tie-in paving is complete. Motorists should be prepared for lane closures and delays. The speed limit has been reduced to 50 mph throughout the project. The project consists of the construction of replacing bridges, approaches, grading, structures, base, and surface, retaining walls, curb & gutter, metal beam guard fence (MBGF), and pavement markings.

FM 316 Rehabilitation

• Limits: From FM 1861 to US 175

• Contractor: Baker & Company Construction, LLC

• Cost: $7.9 million

• Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2024

The contractor is working on punch list items and awaiting final vegetation establishment. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the project and expect lane closures and delays. The project includes pavement reconstruction, structures, pavement markings and signs.

FM 315 Rehabilitation

• Limits: From FM 3079 to FM 317

• Contractor: Big Creek Construction, LTD

• Cost: $1.9 million

• Anticipated Completion Date: Fall 2024

The contractor is working on punch list items. Contractor is also planning cleanup operations on the Clear Creek bridge. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the project and expect lane closures with delays. The project includes pavement reconstruction, structures, pavement markings and signs.

BUS 19 Sidewalks

• Limits: From Ben Belt Fr. To S Loop 7 ramps

• Contractor: 3LW Civil, LCC

• Cost: $2.6 million

• Anticipated Completion Date: Summer 2025

The contractor is planning to continue work this week. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the project and expect lane closures and delays when construction begins on Nov. 4. This project includes sidewalk and pedestrian lane improvements.
