The Henderson County County Attorney’s Office is closed for two weeks because of employees testing positive for COVID-19.
The employees were confirmed positive Thursday, June 25.
The County Attorney’s Office is expected to reopen July 10.
In a statement for the Henderson County Bar Association announcements which was emailed Sunday, County Attorney Clint Davis said:
“I know many of you are already aware, but as of Thursday, June 25, we have two employees in the county attorney’s office who have tested positive for COVID-19. One employee has been lab confirmed and the other tested positive on a rapid test and we are awaiting the official lab results to confirm the rapid test. Both employees are at home and doing well under the circumstances. As a precaution, and to avoid any chances of our office spreading the virus to other employees and patrons of the courthouse we made the decision to close our office for 14 days, which is the number of days recommended by our local health authority to assure that the incubation period has passed. We will look to reopen the office on July 10. We will continue to cover essential hearings during this two week period. Our phones at the office are forwarded to the County Judge’s office and you can relay messages to us through that office, by email, or you may contact any of the attorneys on our cell phones. We appreciate your patience and understanding.”
