During last night’s meeting, the Trinity Valley Community College Board of Trustees approved the designation of TVCC as a Purple Heart College.
This prestigious honor recognizes institutions that go above and beyond in supporting military-affiliated students, especially those who have made profound personal sacrifices in service to our country. According to HigherEdMilitary.com, earning the Purple Heart College designation requires a demonstrated and purposeful commitment to serving this population. TVCC has not only met these standards but has far exceeded them, providing unwavering support for our nation’s heroes.
The board’s decision followed remarks from Ben Pate of Caring for America of Henderson County, Lisa Holmes of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, and Purple Heart recipient Eric Walter.
“I am so thankful and excited for TVCC and this designation,” said Pat Richardson, VA School Certifying Officer and Student Veterans Association Advisor.
