Tough afternoon for TVCC ends in 61-10 loss to Navarro

CORSICANA -- The TVCC Cardinals turned the ball over on their first possession Saturday afternoon and then watched Navarro take the ball and score five plays later.
Things went downhill after that.
The Cardinals were run over by the Navarro Bulldogs, 61-10, and fell to 1-3 in the Southwest Junior College Football Conference. Navarro improved to 2-2 with the win.
Navarro broke out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first quarter.
TVCC battled back in the second behind a 42-yard field goal by Ty Powers and a 26-yard touchdown pass from Champ Harris to Jaquan Lowman cut the score to 28-10, but the Cards never got any closer.
TVCC was shut out in the second half while Navarro added four touchdowns, a field goal, and a safety for the final score.
The Cardinals will host Kilgore at Bruce Field next Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 3 p.m.
