Schools with delayed starts
The temperature has dropped and the forecast includes a possibility of freezing rain and sleet.
Here are the delayed starts for schools that I know of as of 6 p.m. Wednesday evening.
-- Athens ISD - The school day will begin at 10 am Thursday with buses on a two-hour delay for the morning. Students may not be dropped off before 9:15 a.m. Campuses will not be staffed before that time. If conditions overnight require further adjustments, an announcement will be made prior to 6:30 am.
-- Cross Roads ISD - CRISD will have a delayed start Thursday and open at 10 a.m.
-- Eustace ISD - EISD will release students at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and will have a delayed start Thursday at 10 a.m.
-- Kemp ISD -- KISD is releasing students Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. All district activities are canceled for the evening
-- Mabank ISD - Mabank ISD is releasing students at 2 pm Wednesday and will have a delayed start Thursday with school beginning at 10 am.
-- Malakoff ISD - Malakoff is releasing students at 3 p.m. Wednesday and starting late Thursday at 10 a.m.
-- Martin's Mill ISD -- Martin's Mill will have a delayed start Thursday at 10 a.m.
-- Trinidad ISD - TISD will have an early release Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and a late start Thursday at 10 a.m.
-- TVCC Athens and Palestine - Both campuses will open at 10 a.m. Thursday.
-- TVCC Terrell - The Terrell campus and Terrell HSC will close at 11 am Wednesday due to weather-related hazardous road conditions.
