Man sentenced for child pornography
Press release
A 36 year old Tool man has pleaded guilty to charges of possessing child pornography.
Charles Lee Shellito entered the plea on April 8, 2021, in the 392 Judicial District Court and was sentenced to serve 9 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. In addition to his sentence, he will be required to register as a sex offender or the rest of his life. Henderson County District Attorney Jenny Palmer and Assistant District Attorney Samantha Pace prosecuted Shellito for the State of Texas.
Shellito was indicted for the offense in July 2020 following a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and a three-month-long investigation by the Henderson County Sheriffs Department. Sheriffs Investigator Dustin Smith led the investigation and executed search warrants on Shellito’s online accounts, digital devices, and residence.
“Our children are the most vulnerable group in society. One of my top initiatives as District Attorney is to focus on crimes against children and to have a dedicated prosecutor for those cases,” said Palmer.
