Malakoff ISD Earns 'A' Accountability Rating
Malakoff ISD announced today the district received an A rating from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the 2022 accountability ratings for districts and campuses.
These are the first accountability ratings to be issued since 2019 due to two years of COVID-related pauses.
"We are extremely proud of our students and staff and the hard work they put forth this past school year," said MISD Superintendent Don Layton. "It has not been easy for them coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic but they dug their heels in and got results for the students of this community."
Malakoff ISD campuses all earned either an A or B rating on their accountability measures.
In a press release announcing the rating, the district noted the ratings "shows students at Malakoff ISD have moved forward in a big way to close those learning gaps caused by the COVID-19 pandemic."
Established by the 85th Texas Legislature, the A–F accountability system provides educators, parents, and communities with a transparent view of the academic performance of Texas public schools based on three topics: Student Achievement, School Progress, and Closing the Gaps.
Malakoff ISD scored a 95 in all three areas, thereby receiving its A rating.
