Hornets look good against Canton in scrimmage
The Athens Hornets were at Bruce Field Thursday night for their final dress rehearsal before kicking off the regular season next week.
Athens played host to Canton with each team getting 12 plays for the First Team offense/defense and 10 plays for the Second Team offense/defense within a controlled environment. The two teams then squared off in a quarter of live play.
"We said the goal is, this week, when we step out here against Canton, we want to be a better team," Coach Zac Harrell said after the scrimmage, "and if you can do your job better as an individual, then we will be a better team. There's zero doubt, to anybody watching this scrimmage, that we were a better team tonight than we were last week."
You can listen to my interview with Coach Harrell in the clip above.
The Hornets will start the regular season at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, in Brownsboro.
