Holiday lights at the East Texas Arboretum

Each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of December, the East Texas Arboretum will open for an evening walk through a light display immersed in the main garden loop.
Holiday Lights will feature lighted archways under the crepe myrtle tunnels, enchanting gazebos of drop lights, hot cocoa, whimsical vignettes of holiday décor, carolers on the historic Wofford House, and even photo opportunities with Santa brought to us by Atmos Energy.
The East Texas Arboretum is proud to begin new traditions with family and friends in our region. The Holiday Lights is positioned to be the premier holiday event alongside community staples like the Athens Christmas parade and lighting of the tree in the town square.
“We are grateful for our community support to make such a momentous event possible in the gardens,” Executive Director Jennifer Garcia said. “From our hardworking staff to the board of directors, our sponsors, and volunteers, it has truly been a tremendous undertaking that will bring holiday cheer to all who visit.”
Holiday lights will cost guests $20/car ($40/vehicle that holds more than 10 passengers). Photos and visits with Santa will be $10 per family of 8 or fewer and $15 or families 8-15 people. Hot cocoa and other holiday sweets will be available for sale along with arboretum themed gifts and poinsettias.
Holiday Lights at the East Texas Arboretum is hosted on Dec. 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, and 28.
