Henderson County at moderate level of COVID-19 community spread
NET Health releases 7-Day Rolling Rate

The Northeast Texas Public Health District (NET Health) posted the 7-day rolling rate for COVID-19 today. Henderson County's rolling rate from Oct. 1 through Oct. 7 is 14.68 cases per day, per 100,000 population.
This places Henderson County in the Moderate Community Spread category, which is defined as "sustained transmission with confirmed exposure within congregate settings and potential for rapid increase in cases."
This week, Henderson County Judge Wade McKinney and I spoke about the upward trend in COVID-19 hospitalizations during our weekly podcast. You can listen to that podcast here. The COVID update begins at the 18:25 mark.

EXPLAINERS
* The rolling rate calculates the average number of all COVID-positive cases from the previous seven days. That answer is then divided by the population of the county, then multiplied by 100,000, and that final number is the 7-Day Rolling Rate.
* Positive cases of COVID-19 include rapid tests and PCR tests among persons who physically live within one of the seven counties that are covered by the NET Health Disease Surveillance Division.
