The first Athens fiddle statues were delivered to the Henderson County Arts Council Monday.
These statues will be for sale for businesses, organizations, and residents to show their Athens pride. You can paint the statues however you like to express your personal taste or leave them unpainted.
"Either way will depict Athens and its connection to the fiddle and Fiddlers Contest held for the last 90 years."
These statues are 36 inches tall and weigh between 300 and 400 pounds. The cost is $500 and includes delivery and placement.
The money raised from this project will be used to provide art scholarships and financial support for the arts in Athens.
