If you’re looking for a free event that combines lunch, local resources, and some peace of mind, mark your calendar for this Thursday.
The 3rd Annual East Texas Senior Expo will take place May 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at First Methodist Church of Athens (225 Lovers Lane). It’s a come-and-go event, open to the public, with a focus on health, safety, and support for older adults and caregivers.
There will be free health screenings, low-cost vaccines from Family Circle of Care, educational speakers throughout the day, and door prizes — including a $100 Visa gift card. Lunch is provided.
It’s organized in partnership with the Area Agency on Aging of East Texas in honor of Older Americans Month.
