The Trinity Valley Community College softball team opens its NJCAA Division I World Series run tonight in Yuma, Arizona, facing Gaston College at 7:45 p.m. Texas time.
The Cardinals (50-12), ranked No. 8 in the final NJCAA poll, arrived in Arizona over the weekend and took part in the World Series banquet Sunday night, getting a taste of the national spotlight before the action begins.
Gaston College (59-3) comes in with one of the nation’s best records and will be a tough test in the opening round.
Tonight’s game can be streamed live at njcaa.org/network. A $15 subscription is required. The first two rounds will air on the NJCAA Network, with the final three rounds shifting to ESPN+.
A win tonight means the Cardinals will be playing at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. A loss would drop them into the consolation bracket with a 1:15 p.m. game on Wednesday.
