Cardinal Cheer, Cardette Showgirls head to Florida in search of titles

It’s a big week for Cardinal Cheer and Cardette Showgirls. In fact, it’s the biggest.
Florida and national competition await both groups. Both are very familiar to both.
Cardinal Cheer has returned from National Cheerleader Association competition in Daytona Beach 15 times with national titles. Competing in Advanced Small Coed and Advanced Large Coed divisions this year, the goal is to have the total reach 17 by late Friday afternoon.
Small Coed competition starts at 7 a.m. (Texas time) both in the prelims Thursday and the finals Friday. The awards are scheduled to be announced at 10:30 a.m. (Texas time) Friday. Large Coed competition is set to being at 11:30 a.m. (Texas time) both days. The awards are scheduled to be announced at 4 p.m. (Texas time)
Cardinal Cheer is the defending champion in the Large Coed division.
Cardinal Cheer has now won national titles in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1996, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

Cardette Showgirls are also competing in two divisions – Jazz and Pom – down the road in Orlando at The College Classic National Championship.
To date, Cardette Showgirls have six national titles from the competition, having won titles in 2017, 2019, 2012 (2), 2022 and 2024.
The Showgirls are scheduled to compete at 8:33 a.m. (Texas time) Saturday in Jazz. The finals are Sunday.
The Showgirls are scheduled to compete at 11:42 a.m. (Texas time) Saturday in Pom. The finals are Sunday.
The Showgirls won the Pom title a year ago.
