Bell Gets Committee Assignments
Committee assignments have been handed out for the Legislative Session and Rep. Keith Bell landed two important positions. His office sent out a press release, which follows:
Speaker Dade Phelan released Texas House committee assignments for the 87th Legislative Session, naming Representative Bell (R-Forney) to Vice-Chair of Criminal Jurisprudence and Public Education Committees. This will be Representative Bell's second session serving on both of these committees.
The committee on Criminal Jurisprudence has jurisdiction over criminal law & procedure in the courts of Texas, in addition to probation and parole. The Public Education Committee addresses policy regarding school districts and the public school system of Texas.
"I'm honored for the appointment to serve on two committees that directly impact Kaufman and Henderson Counties. Supporting law enforcement, students, and teachers will always be a priority for me and I'm grateful for the opportunity. I'm ready to get started," said Bell.
