Athens ISD to host second annual Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Dinner on Dec. 7

Athens ISD will hold its second annual induction dinner for its Athletic Hall of Fame at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, at the Athens Country Club. Seating is limited, and tickets are $20 each.

Tickets can be purchased online or purchase tickets at the Administration Building on 104 Hawn Street. Ticket sales close on Nov. 30.

AISD will be honoring:

• Barron K. Tanner, class of 1993, who played in the NFL from 1997 to 2003 for the Miami Dolphins, Washington Redskins, and Arizona Cardinals.

• Terrence McGee, class of 1999, who played for the NFL from 2003-2012, all with the Buffalo Bills.

• Alex Furr, class of 2010, who earned all-state basketball recognition three years in a row and TABC "Miss Texas" as a Hornet; currently assistant coach/director of player development at SMU.
